Raw Roads is a national touring project featuring FREE public performances and artist-led workshops, where young and emerging talent can develop their skills, create their own material and have opportunities to perform in professional events and venues.
Between April and July 2017, the Raw Roads: IMAGINE team of rap/DJ/music/performance professionals will work with young people aged 13-25 in Folkestone, Nottingham and London. In each city, we will also have a public showcase of new work created by the young artists during the workshops.
Raw Material are offering daytime provision every week for young people, specialising in music recording, studio skills, beat making and song writing, radio production and DJ’ing. We will be teaching the essential skills that will enable the students to create their own music and help reach their musical potential. The outcomes are presented throughout the year through our events programme and with our partners.
SOUND SCHOOL are offering these sessions to all young people in Lambeth up to the age of 16 including those who have special needs including SEN, CAMHS, who are at risk of exclusion, excluded or don’t function particularly well within mainstream education.
Our team are experts in their field and have plenty of experience working with young people and in particular with those in challenging circumstances. Our creative arts, music and media studio facilities are high end professional standard and provide young people with a hands on experience guided by our dedicated staff and tutors.
We are registered with AQA and Arts Award and we provide accreditation for the work that young people do with us, helping them along their future pathway.
