Sophie Kilburn

Sophie Kilburn is an established indie rock singer and songwriter from the East Midlands who has been writing and performing music for over ten years. Alongside, self-releasing multiple singles/EPs as a DIY artist, landing national radio coverage from the likes of Radio X, BBC Introducing and Sirius XM and supporting artists live from Beabadoobee to Wolf Alice, Sophie has an extensive knowledge of the music industry and how to survive as an artist. From being a Resident Artist and Young Trustee at the iconic Camden Roundhouse, advocating for mental health for emerging artists, plus being heavily involved in artist development programmes from The Amy Winehouse Foundation; supported by Universal Music Group, Ivors Novello and Help Musicians, Sophie has first-hand experience of the struggles of  self-release and promoting music to build a fan community.

The business part of music can be incredibly overwhelming, especially as more weight is put onto the artist’s shoulders to make their own career. Sophie created this programme to help the next wave of emerging artists be able to step up their level of professionalism and find their voices, empowering them to take control in building a music career that is sustainable and mentally healthy.
